Fitness training is one of the YMCA's core services to its members.  The T. Boone Pickens YMCA hosts a broad range of fitness programs for people of all ages and abilities.  From youth to teenagers to senior citizens, we offer group exercise classes as well as one on one and small group training with certified YMCA trainers.

At the T. Boone Pickens YMCA, some of our most popular programs include:

Group Exercise: The T. Boone Pickens YMCA Group Exercise Program offers a wide variety of classes for all interest including Indoor Cycling, Yoga, Step, Power Hour (weights class), Pilates, Abs, Zumba and more.  Classes are free with membership.  For more information, please contact Dora Johannesen at 972-560-3885 or djohannesen@ymcadallas.org.

Personal Training: Personal trainings are one-on-one workout sessions with a certified trainer that has designed a customized plan to help you reach your fitness goals.  The benefits of having a personal trainer include but are not limited to the following:

  • Accountability
  • Motivation
  • Personalized programs
  • Traditional as well as advanced exercises

Personal Fitness Program(PFP): A free 6-week program for the individual who has difficulty committing to a fitness program.  PFP helps you learn how to use exercise machines properly and safely, and how to eliminate any barriers  you may have that may keep you from living a healthier lifestyle.  This program is designed to help you stay motivated, informed and find success in your daily workouts.  For more information or to set up an appointment, please contact Dora Johannesen, Healthy Lifestyles Director at 972-560-3885 or djohannesen@ymcadallas.org.

Free FitLinxx Orientation: FitLinxx is a computerized fitness network that tracks your exercise results on YMCA weight machines.  These results give you motivating feedback on your progress while providing your training coach with information to identify when assistance is needed.  The FitLinxx orientation includes instruction on form, range of motion and rate of motion.  To schedule your orientation appointment, please call the Welcome Center at 972-560-3882.

Massage Therapy: Massage therapy is available for men and women at the T. Boone Pickens YMCA.  To schedule an appointment with Joe Moraga or Wesley Moore call 972-560-3882.  Massage helps reduce muscle soreness and tension, enhances circulation, reduces stress and it feels great!  Massages are by appointment only.
