INDOOR POOL WEATHER RELATED CLOSING PROCEDURES
YMCA of the USA Aquatic Guidelines

The National Weather Service recommends if lightning occurs in the area, the indoor pool is cleared when either of the following occurs:

1) Cloud-to-ground lightning is observed and less than 30 seconds pass from seeing the flash and hearing thunder from that flash.
2) In-cloud lightning is occurring overhead.

The pool can be considered safe to re-occupy 30 minutes after the last lightning is seen or thunder is heard.

Facility Closing Information
Weather-related closings and delays will be posted by 7:45 am. Check this site frequently if weather conditions cause you to question facility availability. Keep in mind, we work hard to be available for our community. If conditions cause us to be closed, we will watch closely with the intent to open as soon as possible. Updates will be posted here. All area YMCA branches will post closings and delays on Channel 4, Fox 4 News and KRLD, 1080 News Radio.
